In 2003 I decided to go back to the Greenland I left as a young mand i 1968. What had happened up here after my 35 years absence? I was anxious to know, so I accepted a position as leader of the Public Libraries in Qaqortoq, the biggest city in Southern Greenland. Qaqortoq is the Education Center of the Region with High School, College of Commerce and quite a lot of industries dealing with furs from the seals from all over Greenland. Here's the Helicopter which flew me from Narsarsuaq to Qaqortoq. Narsarsuaq is the only airport in Southern Greenland which is able to handle the trans-atlantic airplanes. From Narsarsuaq to Qaqortoq theres only a short 15 minutes helicopter-hop.

The Yellow Library - my new HQ ... such a fine old tree building, was constructed in 1907 and sent to Greenland from Copenhagen in parts. It was first ment to be a church and a schoolhouse in the city of Narsaq, some 40 miles away but the good people of Qaqortoq thought that this fine building was far too good for the people of Narsaq, so it was raised here in Qaqortoq in stead. The City allready had a church, so it became a school from the start - and later on The Public Library.
